    Dear Montana Employer:

As a Montana employer,  you are on the front lines of employment in our state.   You are invited to participate in the free Montana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Job and Education Fair Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Great Falls, MT.  Click here for the related flyer.

Showcasing those actively seeking employees or students, the fair will be open exclusively to Montana Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, and veterans.  Hours will be 10 am to 3 pm at the old US Army Reserve Center, 2700 Airport Avenue B nearthe Great Falls Airport.  Attendance for the event should be increased with Montana Air National Guard members and their families in town for a guard drill weekend and the annual Family Day Picnic.

Mark your calendars for August 13 and reserve your free booth today!  Please complete and return the registration form by August 1, 2011.   E-mail confirmations will be sent to you.  The schedule is: 7 am-9 am set-up; 9 am welcome; registration 9:30 am; doors open 10 am-3 pm.  Provided items are one 6’ table, two chairs, and two brown bag lunches per booth.  Due to the age of the building, electricity will not be available at the booths.  On-site interview rooms and a hospitality room will be available.

Earlier this month, unemployment for our Montana citizen warriors of the National Guard hit home as members of the 219th Red Horse Squadron returned from deployment with 20% unemployed.  Montana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (MT ESGR) is offering you the opportunity to support our troops, their families, and veterans by hiring them as employees.

Did you know 48% of our nation’s military strength resides in the National Guard and Reserve, or reserve component as they are called?  Your help is vital to the success of our National Guard and Reserve.  The relationship between civilian employers and their Guard and Reserve employees iscritical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s National Guard and Reserve units.

MT ESGR is a Department of Defense agency.  We recognize supportive employers of the reserve component, inform service members and employers about the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA), and provide conflict mediation services.  A new goal is to connect service members and potential employers.  To support this goal, MT ESGR is setting up a series of job readiness workshops and job fairs in Montana.

MT ESGR is working with the US Department of Labor, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the US Small Business Administration, and the US Office of Personnel Management to enhance the employment process and serve as an effective resource for our reserve component and employers.  Acting in tandem with the Montana Chamber of Commerce, the fair will be opened to veterans and military spouses who will be invited through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes initiative.

This event presents you with a select pool of employees to tap into across Montana.  With their security clearances, these men and women represent drug-free employees who enrich a workplace with a variety of skills.

"We truly appreciate and need the skills that Guardsmen and Reservists bring to our company.  And so we are the ones that should be thanking and awarding these fine men and women for all they do for Avmax.  We could not be the success that we are in Great Falls without these people in our employ.  2011 is looking to be an expansion year and so we will once again look to MT ESGR to assist us with our staffing needs."  Don Parkin, Executive Vice President of Avmax Group Inc.
