    US Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) to Host Next Event in Accessible Technology Educational Series

    Live webinar will take place on Thursday, August 2nd at 2:00pm EST

    The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) is scheduled to host a live webinar, Accessible Technology’s Impact on the Employment of People with Cognitive and Developmental Disabilities, on August 2nd at 2:00pm EST.   

    Part of the AT Works online educational series, this free event will explore the connection between emerging technologies and the employment of people with disabilities. Presenters will address the current state of accessible technology for those with cognitive and developmental disabilities, as well as provide examples of the current and future use of these technologies in the workplace.  Details are as follows:

    What: A live webinar moderated by Kathleen Martinez, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy.  Presenters include Ari Ne’eman President and Co-founder, Autistic Self Advocacy Network and Adam Anicich, Acting Director, Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs' Liaison Service, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

    When: Thursday, August 2nd from 2:00pm-3:00pm EST. Presentation slides will be provided prior to the webinar, and an archived version of the slides will be made available following the event.

    Who: Employers, workers, policymakers, advocates and others interested in learning more about accessible technology and its impact on the employment of people with disabilities.

    The August 2nd webinar will be followed by an AT Works webcast on August 16th titled “Accessibility and Emerging Technology – Keys to Improving the Employment of People with Disabilities.”  Panelists will include Jim Tobias, President of Inclusive Technologies and Vint Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google.
